Jeep Hand Throttle
CJ5 Jeep Intake problems?
i replaced the lifters and rods in my jeep when i was done the jeep ran for a wile then died i noticed that the fule filter was dry so i bought a new fuel pump and now shes getting fuel and runs but not right when i start her i have to get out really quick and cover the carb with my hand to make her stop bucking and shaking when i cover the carb it runs well to rev it up i have to play with the throttle and move my fingers a little to get some more air but it i move my hand all to gether and move the throttle it just dies. and when ideling the sound of it sucking air is really loud compaired to before i took the intake manifold off. only thing i can thank is that its sucking air from somewhere around the intake manifold and its getting to much air and not enuff fuel. anyone have any ideas??

No you have a vacuum problem or your carb isnt mounted flush/tight. The intake is fine but you have to go back and look at what vacuum line you missed or plug off something on that carb thats open and not creating the vacuum.
